PASS RATES - The pass rate amongst my learner driver pupils is something I am extremely proud of. BSM assess their instructors every 4 months and award them if their pass rates are significantly higher than their local test centre average. For the past 2 years, I've been awarded the highest possible award on 4 out of a possible 6 occasions and in March 2008 had the highest pass rate in the Stoke-On-Trent area at 88%. The test centre and national average pass rates can be checked on the DSA website, but are generally around 42%. As the DSA don't currently publish instructor pass rates, this is an area in which it is easy to lie - I'm happy to provide written proof of my pass rates in the form of commendation letters from BSM's managing director.

"PERFECT PASS PROMISE" - My records show that for every 25 pupils I take for test, 1 will pass it without receiving any minor marks at all - the so called "perfect pass". As an incentive to pupils to try and achieve this, and hopefully to improve on that statistic, I will offer a £60 reduction in the pass plus course to all pupils that manage it. BSM SENIOR INSTRUCTOR - There is one Senior Instructor in every BSM region and our role is to offer our other instructors help and advice on running their business and training their pupils. This means that there may be other instructors sitting in the back of the car from time to time on lessons observing my teaching methods - one thing I promise though, is that I will never, ever arrive at your house with another pupil in the car.

DSA APPROVED MOCK TESTS - BSM have trained a team of specialist instructors to provide mock tests using a course approved by the Driving Standards Agency (DSA). We undertook a two day course in Manchester and Stoke to become qualified and the course provides a very clear insight into how the DSA's examiners judge and grade faults during the real test. Mock tests are available as a one off session if you think you're ready for test, but are unsure about whether to go for the real thing or not.

EXPERIENCED DRIVER ECO-SAFE DRIVING - As the Senior Instructor for the area, I am the only BSM instructor approved to provide BSM's new Eco-Safe driving course for experienced drivers. This 2 hour course will help you to save 10-20% on your fuel bills whilst also bringing benefits in terms of reduced journey times stress levels and risk of crashing. Call for further details.

SCHOOLS AND OTHER YOUNG PEOPLE'S ORGANISATIONS - I am certificated by the road safety charity Brake! to provide road safety presentations to young people in schools and other institutions. This is intended to complement our existing "Ignition" course in which we offer young people the chance to drive the cars on private land (for example, a school yard). The content of the ignition course is aimed at raising road safety awareness amongst young people who may not appreciate the risks they face on the roads or the difficulties of driving, and typical activities would include driving / reversing through cones, driving with "beer goggles" fitted and driving whilst texting or listening to loud music - including responding to emergencies. The instructors are always in full control of the car, groups of cars are available on request (subject to space) and the courses can be run in or out of office hours rotating pupils so that entire classes get the experience.
